Hitting the trail for more fall inspiration...

The other morning, I took a hike along the Deschutes River.  Along the way, I found many signs of fall.  Spent native flowers and lots of berries were lining the trail.  Maybe next week, I will see a few leaves changing color.  A girl can hope.

Rabbitbrush still in bloom.

Western Juniper - Juniperus occidentalis

Common Snowberry - Symphoricarpos albus

Mountain Alder - Alnus incana

One of the last Douglas Spirea flowers still in bloom.
Chokecherry - Prunus virginiana
Woods Rose - Rosa gymnocarpa

My view at the end of the trail.
I wish I had brought my pruners.  I could have brought cuttings home for a floral
arrangement!  Oh, well.  I guess I'll just have to hike the trail again next week.  Poor me, right?

  1. You are like me. I often clip the forest finds for inside. I really liked your view at the end of the trail. Beautiful.
