New Excitement for a New Year

I am starting the New Year out with several exciting changes.  As of January 1, 2014, I became the official Brand Manager for Little Prince of Oregon Nursery.  If you have been following my story, this should not be much of a surprise.  Little Prince of Oregon is where I started my quest for discovering High Desert Hardy Succulents for Central Oregon.  Over the past several years, I have been testing varieties in Steel Life's Vertical Gardens and planters hoping to compile a list of sustainable and easy care container plants for my clients.

LPO (Little Prince of Oregon) is also a distributor for Bright Green Vertical Wall Systems.  You may have seen these systems in your local garden center.  You can also purchase them directly from LPO online (click here).    After several years of testing this product, I believe it is a good system.  I recommend using it outdoors and occasionally spraying the plant material with a hose in addition to the irrigation module it comes with.

Here are a few vertical gardens that we have planted with LPO plants.

Love the mixed varieties of Sempervivums!

Once we played around with some of these varieties in our vertical gardens, we were excited to start using them in other applications for our clientele.

These succulents had no problem surviving our Zone 6A winters!

So, that's the story behind Steel Life's initial love affair with the plants from Little Prince of Oregon.  I am thrilled to have the chance to educate gardeners about the varieties that LPO carries, as well as, show examples of how they can be used in the landscape.
