You don't have to have orchids to get Pantone's Color of the Year in your garden

Radiant Orchid may be Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014, but you don't need orchids to get this color into your garden.  Radiant Orchid is popping up in gardens more now that ever.

You can achieve Radiant Orchid in your garden through herbs, succulents, berries, bulbs, vegetables, wildflowers and ornamentals.

If you aren't sold on incorporating Radiant Orchid plants into the garden, consider painting a wall or bringing in garden accessories that compliment your style.

I feel that purple tones are overused in the garden, so I like to bring it in as a less permanent feature.  You can always repaint a wall, fence, bench or planter.  However, I have a hard time removing and discarding plant material once it is planted.
