Chihuly Glass in the Modern Garden

I first discovered Dale Chihuly's work when I was in Italy in the late 1990's.  I immediately fell in love.  When in Rome, right?  Well, actually, it was Chihuly's glassblowing talents that I fell in love with.

Pacific Northwest native, Dale Chihuly, was the first American glassblower to work in the prestigious Venini glass factory on the island of Murano.  I had the opportunity to visit Murano at one of the glass blowing factories during my stay. I found it to be an amazing and graceful art.

Since my visit to Italy, I have been following Chihuly's work.  Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas...his work is everywhere!

Most recently, I have discovered Chihuly's work in the garden.  I love the drama and grace of his Spear Collection.

Chihuly's glassblowing talents take my breathe away.  If you get a chance to visit an exhibit of his, I highly recommend it!
