Watermelon Margaritas

Would you like to see what's behind garden curtain number one?

Not only is it another garden cocktail, but it is one that you can make from tired fruit that is several days old.

Yep, Watermelon Margaritas!

After bringing your Tupperware bowl of watermelon to so many picnics, it just doesn't seem quite as fresh and thirst quenching as the first time, am I right?

That's  ok…don't throw your old watermelon in the compost bin just yet.  I've got a tantalizing garden cocktail recipe ready and waiting that will be good all summer long.

Watermelon Margarita Recipe

  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3-1 1/2 cups cubed, seedless watermelon
  • 3/4 cup tequila (white preferred)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp. Triple Sec

I love this recipe because it was so easy to throw together after being at the river all day with the family.  It is also a relatively, low calorie cocktail because the watermelon is already so sweet, you don't need to add a lot of sugar!

Puree ingredients above in a blender.  Rim glasses with sugar and fill with ice. Pour and enjoy.  Yep, just that easy!

The recipe above should fit easily in a standard blender.  For a frozen margarita, simply add more ice in blender to achieve the thickness wanted.

It's no secret…it's just another Garden to Glass recipe that can be enjoyed all summer long!
